How the ReveIQ Industry Benchmark Index works
CC/MCC capture rate measures the percentage of inpatient cases where a complication/comorbidity (CC) or major complication/comorbidity (MCC) is documented and coded — a critical driver of MS-DRG reimbursement and a leading indicator of CDI program health. Higher capture means better documentation precision. Lower capture suggests documentation opportunities are being missed.

The ReveIQ Industry Benchmark Index groups hospitals into five peer categories, each with a published range from industry publications and coding association surveys. The bands below represent the typical interquartile range for each peer group — roughly the middle 50% of performers.

Reading your result
Above the band — your documentation precision is strong. Focus on sustaining the program and auditing coding accuracy.
Within the band — you're performing at peer level. Opportunity exists to move to the top quartile through specific DRG-focused query templates and physician engagement.
Below the band — significant CDI opportunity exists. Common root causes: understaffed CDI, limited concurrent review coverage, low query response rates, or missing physician champion engagement.
